Allee Willis is a GRAMMY, Emmy, Tony, and Webby award-winning/nominated songwriter, artist, multimediaist, director, collector, party thrower - and native Detroiter. The April 9 extravaganza is the first of many arts projects Allee plans to do with Mumford students, and builds on work she started in 2008, when she was on national radio with the principal, history teacher, and 20 students as Mumford became the first high school in the country to receive 400 hours of never-before-heard historic African-American audio tapes that she raised money to restore with Pacifica Radio Archives.

Please note that "Allee Willis Marches on Detroit" takes place just before a matinee performance of The Color Purple. Event tickets do not include admission to the show. Discounted tickets for The Color Purple can be purchased separately by calling Fox Theatre group sales at 313-471-3099.

Ticket purchasers: You will not be mailed physical tickets. Upon arrival, attendees should check in using the last name of the ticket purchaser. A check-in table with a master list of all ticket purchasers will be positioned near the lobby entrance of the Fox Theatre.
